| Description |
Dixieland Park is the Valley's only 18 hole course. It is an excellent beginner course with no direct water hazards and minimal obstacles. The terrain is pretty open for the most part but the course uses it's few trees to it's advantage. There are also man-made obstacles on a few holes including a wooden barrier which resembles Stonehenge. The course has a balance of short and long holes. The open terrain and water across the street lead to some great wind related challenges. |

Dixieland Park is by far the better of the two courses in the Valley. Not only is an 18 hole course, it also has had a lot of work put into it. It for the most part is a pretty open area with very few trees but the trees it does have are used well. Where there are no trees there are some obstacles that have been put in the way to help the challenge. Wind is a big factor at this park as well. The main drawback of this park is the "pars". I have no idea why every single hole is a par three. When you have one hole that is three times as far as another hole it should not be the same par. Not only is the farthest hole about 570' but it also has a tree in the way that forces you to putt pretty close up and not to mention the fact that the road is just feet behind the basket so you don't want to over shoot. Even with some minor flaws it is still a great park and will be a park I go to every time I go to the Valley. |
