Independence Lake - Picnic Course

The picnic course is a seasonal 18 hole course that is installed in October and then removed in early April. Cones mark each hole with a dirt tee pad. Interesting orange baskets are used. The course is located at a daily pay park with a great beach area which is used for the picnic course. The course partially plays on the banks of Whitmore Lake with beach as the fairway. It surely is a beautiful sight even in the winter months. This is a very challenging course with length being a common trend.  If one gets a chance to play I would. There is also another 18 hole course on the property which is year round and well worth playing as well.
