Description
Steeplechase Park in Kyle, TX has an 18 hole course that follows the path of Plum Creek from one end of the park to the other. This course was designed by John Houck and offers a very good challenge with water hazards on most holes and lots of trees throughout the park. The park is well signed, has two different tee pads for each hole, and different basket placement depending on the time of the year. This course also has a driving range (to the right of the basketball court) and a practice basket (to the left of the basketball court).

Steeplechase
The Good - This course has a great mixture of long holes and short ones. Most holes have two different concrete tee boxes. There are great practice areas (both a practice basket and driving range). The driving range is right next to a line of houses so just in case you are afraid of loosing a disc in someone's yard you can go use the football field to practice your throws instead. Good signage (but make sure you pay attention to the arrow that points to the next hole). Lots of other stuff to do in the park too. The Bad - There is a lot of poison ivy but since I am pretty new to the sport I try to stay away from the water and so I haven't had a problem yet with it. I played twice this week once before they mowed and once after. It was a lot nicer afterward so hopefully you get lucky when you go. Lots of the people in the park are there for things besides disc golf so keep an eye out since the walking path goes through the course (but it was nice to have a dog walker to help when I was trying to find the tee for hole three the first time). Final Thoughts - I am really glad to have such a good course so close to me. My favorite hole is #13. Make sure to check out the course's website to see the map.

Steeplechase DGC
Very well maintained course(when I played it) and is family friendly with walking trails and a play area for the kiddos (it has swings! a plus for any parent) Pros: 2 tee AND pin postions on most holes. Concrete teepads. Driving Range! Practice basket. Water comes into play on alot of the holes, Golden Retriever needed Cons: Posion Ivy/Oak are a MAJOR factor at this course. It's mostly by the water. The walking path crosses the course alot, WATCH OUT for people.
